Bio

Scott first picked up the guitar during his senior year in high school. “I started playing pretty much by accident”, Scott recalls. “A guy I worked with asked me if I wanted to buy his old Harmony Strat-copy for forty bucks. It seemed like a neat idea, so I took it home the next day!”  Scott quickly found himself practicing 2-3 hours a day.

After high school, Scott studied classical guitar under Amy Brucksch at the University of Toledo.  Later that year, Scott began teaching at Durdel’s Music. Scott transferred to Bowling Green State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Philosophy, and a minor in music.

As a working musician in and around Toledo, Scott keeps busy with a variety of projects. In 2008, he played acoustic guitar and mandolin in the pit orchestra for the Toledo Repertoire Theater production of “Spitfire Grill.” He presented a “Bach to Rock” masterclass at the Toledo School for the Arts GuitarFest 2011. Scott has appeared as a sideman for Chavar Dontae at Soundtrek 2011, the Toledo Music Expo, and a television promo on WTOL-11. In cover bands such as Creamy Goodness, The Rayz, Moore’s Law, The LebowskisBlack Swamp Rebels, and The Swingsters jazz big band, Scott has performed numerous gigs at Put-in-Bay, the Toledo Zoo, Hollywood Casino, The Valentine Theater, Croswell Opera House, Cedar Point, and other venues.

Scott’s current projects include the cover band NOT FAST ENÜFF, and an acoustic duo with Melissa Toth, named Toledo’s Best Vocalist in 2018 by the Toledo City Paper.  Also of note, NOT FAST ENÜFF performed at Toledo Pride 2016, and opened for Skid Row. In October 2017, Black Swamp Rebels opened for Maddie & Tae at Promedica Promenade Park. Scott has also appeared as a sideman with Distant Cousinz, Phamily Dynamik, Caveman and the Dinosaurs, My Brother Nature, and the Scott Fish Trio.
