“Bad Company” guitar lesson

Posted another lesson on strategies for playing piano riffs on guitar. I’ll show you an acoustic arrangement of the piano parts to “Bad Company.” This lesson also introduces drop D-flat tuning, which is Db – Ab – Db – Gb – Bb – Eb (low to high). Eddie Van Halen uses this tuning in “Unchained,” and Zakk Wylde uses it quite a bit, too. And, as you’ll hear in this lesson, it’s a useful tuning for fingerstyle acoustic as well. Enjoy!

    Hi Scott,
I was trying to play Joni Mitchell’s piano riffs from “Woodstock” on my guitar and was getting nowhere until I noticed the “Bad Company” sound and still was getting nowhere until I found your lessons. I haven’t really started yet but I know this is exactly what I was looking for. As soon as I get “Woodstock” under my fingers I’ll be returning to your site for more piano rifffs. I also teach children music theory and look forward to your perspective in this area also.
    Thanks,
    David
